MST Segment 6 Thru-Hike: Stone Mtn to Wells Knob

The chance to thru-hike section 6 of the MST! Hikers will meet at the Elkin Recreation Center at 8:15 am. Shuttles will be provided to the Stone Mountain Country Store where the hike begins. You can carry your gear (Tent, sleeping bag, etc) for overnight camping at Wells Knob or we will "slack-pack" your gear if you wish. You can purchase lunch at Tripplett's grocery in Austin. Thursday night supper as well as "campfire entertainment" will be provided. Friday breakfast will be provided before hiking into Elkin. Shuttles, entertainment and meals are provided for "donations only". If you are interested in all or part of our hike/paddle fill out the form when you click 'Register'.
