The origin of mentoring comes from Homer’s Odyssey when, during the Trojan War, the King of Ithaca entrusts the care of his household to Mentor, the teacher and overseer of his son.
Not to be outshone, this year celebrates the 10th anniversary of the MovesMentor Awards in recognition of, and to specifically spotlight the role individual women leaders play in shaping and forming the next generation; highlighting the multiple benefits of diversity and the long term rewards of inclusivity in corporate and personal policies. A successful mentor is empathetic and understanding but at the same time never loses sight of the value - in fact the necessity - for perspicacity in her every engagement with her mentoree; trust is the most valuable currency in the relationship.
The MovesMentor and DEI Award presentations are on June 21st 2024.
