Movement Workshop

FRONT International: Cleveland Triennial for Contemporary Art is a region-wide art exhibition comprised of new artist commissions, performances, films, and public programs. Launched in 2018, FRONT will return to Cleveland every three years. Organized in collaboration with museums, civic institutions, and alternative spaces across Cleveland, Akron, and Oberlin, FRONT showcases an ambitious roster of projects throughout the landscape and built environment. A movement workshop at Transformer Station lead by FRONT Fellow at the Cleveland Public Library, Ron'Dale Simpson. FREE, Limited capacity.

Transformer Station

This movement workshop explores elements of African and Western dance styles, hip hop, modern, and HBCU dance styles. Participants will engage in full-bodied physical movement while developing confidence and subtle intricacies for a variety of styles. Participants will learn progressions across the floor and choreography that encourages full self expression.No prior dance experience is necessary, we welcome all levels of interest and experience!Due to potentially snowy or rainy weather, please plan to bring a dry pair of socks and shoes for the workshop. Please also bring a water bottle with you.This workshop will be indoors; Masks or proof of vaccination required.
