MOVE Day 5K

MOVE Day 5K

Drexel ParkPhiladelphia, PA
Saturday, May 16 from 8 am to 11 am
Overview

The MOVE Day 5K is a community race commemorating the Bombing of MOVE on May 13, 1985. Every step honors the lives lost.

The launch of The MOVE Day 5K marks the beginning of a new tradition commemorating the Bombing of MOVE on May 13, 1985, which resulted in the loss of 11 lives of MOVE members, including 5 children, and the destruction of 61 family homes.

Physical health and wellness was and is core to MOVE's belief and activities. What better way to honor this legacy than to move together?

This community 5K welcomes all ages to run, walk, or move with us. The race will begin at Drexel Park and end at the MOVE Historic Marker. Proceeds will benefit the Reclaim Osage Campaign, to buy back 6221 Osage Avenue, the house bombed by the City of Philadelphia.

Stay tuned for more updates on event logistics, sponsorship, and volunteer opportunities.
