About this event

Richard Stromberg will lead us on a plant walk on the Charcoal and Pig Iron Interpretive Trails in the Elizabeth Furnace Recreation Area. The walk is a little less than a mile on uneven forest trails with 100 feet elevation gain. The trails have signs showing how iron was smelted and are lined with Mountain Laurel. There are restroom facilities at the parking lot. Here is a description of the recreation area: https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/gwj/recarea/?recid=73687.
