Guided community walk in Mott Haven highlighting the state of parks infrastructure in the South Bronx

Join a Mott Haven Walk & Talk to build a strong parks system! Together with local partners, we’ll explore how parks, greenways, the Bronx waterfront and open spaces are shaping the future of the South Bronx—and why investing in the public realm matters for health, safety, and climate resilience. The tour will include sites that are not accessible to the general public.

Meeting Point: Graham Triangle, South Bronx, next to 6 Train (3rd Ave-138th St. stop and the Lincoln Ave. & East 138th St. Citi Bike dock)

Date: Friday, October 24

Time: 1 to 3 PM

Stops will include: Mitchel Houses, Pulaski Park, the Waterfront (Harlem River Yard/Lincoln at Bankside) and Maria Sola Garden.

What to Expect

This is not your typical walking tour. As we move through key sites in Mott Haven, local advocates and community leaders will highlight:

  • Park system wins that show what’s possible with sustained investment.
  • Infrastructure needs & opportunities for safer, greener, and more connected public spaces.
  • Climate-smart solutions that protect communities today and tomorrow.

Why Join?

Whether you’re a South Bronx resident, a parks advocate, or simply a New Yorker who cares about the future of our city, this event is a chance to see firsthand how public space shapes daily life. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of what’s at stake and how you can get involved in building a more equitable, climate-ready city.
