Academy for Professional Excellence

The Academy for Professional Excellence presents Motivational Interviewing with Rosemarie Sachs, MS, MFT, Member of MINT.
Motivational Interviewing was originally developed to treat adults with substance abuse issues, and has since evolved into a counseling approach that applies to multiple fields. Motivational Interviewing emphasizes empathetic listening and techniques to empower client self-determination and positive action.
In this two session, 11-hour training, participants will learn the foundations of Motivational Interviewing and practice Motivational Interviewing techniques. Completion of this course qualifies for 11 hours of continuing education (CE) credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs.

FAQs
How does the training schedule work?
The training is 11 hours, spaced over two days.
The first day is a full-day training on Friday, August 10. This session runs from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
The August 11, Saturday Morning session runs from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM
 
Where can I find more info about obtaining Continuing Education certificates?
Visit our website <A HREF="https://theacademy.sdsu.edu/programs/bheta/continuing-education/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">here</A>. You'll find the information to verify we're approved to sponsor CEs.
 
What happens if I'm late to either training day?
If you want CEs, you can only miss 15 minutes of a training. If you're more than 15 minutes late to either day, you forfeit the CEs for that day. However, your ticket is still valid and you're welcome to enter the class and participate.
 
Is my ticket transferable?
Due to the restrictions surrounding eligibility for CEs, your ticket is not transferable. The name of the person attending the training must be the name on the ticket.
 
Is there free parking?
Yes! The training room has ample parking in an off-street lot. 
 
Will food be provided?
Refreshments such as coffee, tea, water, and healthy snacks will be provided throughout the duration of the training.
On Friday, the training will pause from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM for lunch on your own. Our training facility is located near many different restaurants in sunny San Diego.

What's the refund policy?

For this event, refunds will be issued until seven days prior to the event. All tickets purchased after August 3, 2018, are final.
