About this event

Learn the basics of mosaic techniques for small projects to wall murals.

Our instructors will guide you through each step of the process, sharing tips and tricks along the way. You'll leave with your own garden stepping stone: a one-of-a-kind mosaic creation that you can display with pride. No prior experience necessary - just bring your creativity and a willingness to get your hands dirty!

In addition to the garden mosaics, attendees will be introduced to the Zagar method of tiling and grouting for wall mosaics with mirrors. Anyone wanting to learn this method can make a smallish mosaic practice piece - bring a small piece of plywood or use one of the pieces we'll have on hand.

All materials provided: ticket prices include a $10 materials fee.

If you have special tile(s) that you'd like to include in your project, please bring it with you (clay or porcelain only, approximately 1/4" in thickness).

Sign up now and let's get mosaic-making!

Empowering our community with tools

The Cville Tool Library aims to be a collective and collaborative space for empowering our community with tools. It is a place where community members can borrow tools, similar to books at the library, for home repair, maintenance, and personal projects without having to buy and store tools they might only use a handful of times. We hope a shared tool collection will be an efficient way to broaden access to tools to a wide range of folks in Charlottesville and Albemarle. In the future, we hope to teach, train, and empower folks in making, repairing, and maintenance to build up responsible homeowners, aspiring entrepreneurs, and enthusiastic makers in our community.
