About this event

  • 7 hours

The last four years have seen foundational shifts in the nonprofit sector on topics of employment, racial justice, resource generation, and more. This conference is an opportunity to discuss and engage the big questions regarding how nonprofits can understand the current landscape, sustainably generate necessary resources, and ensure impactful work.

For the morning plenary session, Dr. Tyrone McKinley Freeman of the Lily Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University and Nneka Allen of The Empathy Agency will discuss different philanthropic traditions and how they can inform nonprofit work today. For the afternoon plenary panel, Mary Morten of the Morten Group, Michelle Morales of Woods Fund, Cecelia Conrad of the MacArthur Foundation, and Daniel O. Ash of the Field Foundation of Illinois will discuss the status of the philanthropic sector and their hopes for it. More information about breakout sessions will be announced in the coming months.

At More Than Money, industry experts and nonprofit leaders will be thinking together how nonprofits can generate and use their resources for impact that builds and sustains societal justice. This is the Axelson Center’s 25th anniversary of bringing vital professional development to Chicago-area nonprofit leaders. Join us for a day of networking, good food, and essential content!
