MOOP Talk: Action

The Museum of Ordinary People (MOOP) is a pop-up museum that celebrates the ripples people leave behind, telling hidden stories using everyday objects.For our first project MOOP worked with members of the public who had collections of everyday objects or documents they want to explore. We ran a series of workshops that allowed participants to create an artistic response to their objects – diaries, found items, photographs  – culminating in a final one-week exhibition as part of the Brighton Fringe.Our project was received with great success, with incredible reviews and  emotional responses from hundreds of visitors, and we were awarded the 2018 Brighton Fringe Visual Arts Award. Museum of Ordinary People (MOOP)

If you missed out on visiting the Museum of Ordinary People (MOOP) during the Brighton Fringe, we are back on October 1st for a MOOP Talk!
In May, a team of volunteers built a museum in Brighton from scratch. A year after its creators met, MOOP had become a reality, its exhibitions had moved hundreds of people, and the museum had won the 2018 Brighton Fringe Visual Arts Award.
MOOP Talk: Action is a celebration of exactly this – having an idea, running with it, taking action and making amazing things happen.
Join us for an inspiring evening at The Spire, Brighton, where dynamic local people who have done extraordinary things for Brighton's community will take to the stage and share their uplifting stories about how  they actioned their own ideas for social change.
After the discussion, Team MOOP will host drinks and an interactive workshop about turning our ideas into actions. £5 ENTRY – PURCHASE YOUR TICKET IN ADVANCE VIA EVENTBRITE
MOOP Talk: Action is a small action of our own. We are fundraising to make the next stage of MOOP happen, and to build on what we've achieved so far.
