Join us for a Moonlight Horseback Ride on Friday May 17th at 8078 Whitfield Road, Newark, IL 60541.

We'll put glowsticks on the horses and start the ride as the sun is going down.

This guided horseback ride is approximately an hour through meadows, creeks, and woods illuminated with fairy lights. After the ride we'll enjoy a bonfire on the hill, and our free-roaming herd of horses will visit us for pets and treats. We'll have s'mores and all participants are welcome to bring their own food and beverages to enjoy around the fire. Bring a bag chair too. We will provide carrots if you'd like to offer your favorite horse a snack!

During the bonfire, each guest will be invited to a private, personal tarot reading.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the venue?

The ride will be held at Millbrook Trail Rides, 8078 Whitfield Rd, Newark IL 60541. There is plenty of free parking available.

What time does the ride start?

Please arrive to the upper level of the barn to sign in by the start-time on your ticket. For safety reasons, we must begin the ride while there is still daylight. Late arrivals will not be accommodated and no refunds will be provided for late arrivals.

What should I wear?

Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required. Cowboy boots are perfect if you have them. Your shoe must fit in a 5" wide stirrup so please do not wear wide work boots/steel toe boots. Gym shoes are okay for this ride.

Do I need to wear a helmet?

Helmets are required for riders age 17 and younger. Riders over age 18 are encouraged to wear a helmet, but are not required to do so. Helmets in a variety of sizes are available for free to borrow at the barn for your ride.

Can I bring a non-riding guest to the bonfire?

Yes. Tarot readings for non-riding guests are $25 cash- please RSVP your non-riding guest to saddlesnaps123@gmail.com. Please include the date of your ride in that email.

What should I bring?

Each guest should bring a bag chair for the bonfire. Bug-spray is recommended. We recommend a small backpack or fanny pack for holding keys, phones, etc. Please do not ride with phones or keys in pockets, as they are easy to fall out and lose on the trail.

Do I need riding experience to participate?

Although this ride is safe for beginners, it is a more challenging ride and not recommended for first-time riders. If you've never ridden before, please book a daytime ride at www.millbrooktrailrides.com before signing up for a moonlight ride.

What is the refund policy?

Tickets may be resold by the purchaser but refunds will only be given if the ride is canceled by the event organizer. If you re-sell tickets, buyer must be informed of ride FAQ and height/weight requirements.

Can my child ride?

This ride is suitable for teens age 14 and up that are over 5-feet tall.
