About this event

The Owl Eyes Wilderness Monthly Skills Club is your chance to learn with us from a distance! This experience will start each month with an online group video chat explaining the set skills for the month. Students who join the monthly skills club will be learning new skills each month while forming a community of support and growth on each skill. We will be releasing videos and "how-tos" on each skill. At the end of the month, you will be mailed a Skill Signet patch (each month has a different patch and theme).

Schedule:

  • Beginning of Month: 1st video community chat/intros. Attendees will be emailed a link for the online community chat AFTER the deadline to sign up each month. This email will contain info for the video chat, along with the weekly challenges and a link for the Discord server.
  • Throughout the Month: Skills Practice, videos will be released, guest speakers, and community chats.
  • End of the Month: Closing community video chat, patches sent out.

If you cannot make a video chat, you are still very welcome to join the community and we will record the videos for members to view. The community chat will be on Discord and students will be emailed a link to join after the deadline to sign up on1st of the month.

Required Gear:

Although each month may have different requirements, we recommend our STUDENT KITS as a good place to start. There are recommended books for each month, which are optional. However, whatever you have at home should suffice for our monthly tasks and skills. You will also need online access whether that be from a smartphone or computer to join in on video chats and the Discord group.

Please note: Each ticket covers the cost of 1 person and 1 patch. We provided a family discount for folks who would like to sign up as a couple, or parents with children.

There are 27 Skill Signets in total!

Students will be sent an email by Owl Eyes Wilderness Survival with more details on or after the 1st of every month. We will use Discord for our community chats and Zoom for videos. Please note that the video chat is not always on the 1st of the month. You will be emailed a link to the Discord server on the 1st, after the sign-up deadline.

Who can join: Anyone is welcome as long as you agree to create a judgement-free, supportive, and accepting community. All ages are welcome.
