No. All you need to do is show up and allow the rhythms and beats to guide you.

What if I don't own my a drum?

Accepted Answer

No worries. There are plenty of extra frame drums, and miscellaneous percussion instruments available for use.

How much does it cost?

There is no admission fee to attend the drum circle however, Blue Lotus Temple is donation based organization. Any donation amount is appreciated. 100% of the donations go directly to the temple.

What happens at a drum circle?

The facilitator usually begins with an easy to follow rhythm/beat and others join in when inspiration tells them to. There is no pressure to take part although it is recommended that everyone participates. All of the drum songs emerge spontaneously and organically. Nothing is pre-rehearsed.

What are the benefits of communal drumming?

It's a collective community of expression, it's good for stress reduction, boosts your brain power, elevates your mood, enhances your self expression, improves social bonds, enhances mindfulness and presence, encourages emotional release, lowers blood pressure, releases endorphins.
