About your instructor: Chris Ann Ambery
Chris Ann is a multi-disciplinary artist and art educator who was born and raised in Queens, New York. She earned a BFA in Illustration from Parsons School of Design and an MFA in Printmaking from LIU Post. Chris Ann maintains an active studio practice in both Adirondack, NY and Venice, FL. Her current body of work comprises Mixed Media Paintings, Solarplate Etchings and Wet Cyanotypes. Solarplate is a less toxic method of printmaking and is extremely versatile. Wet Cyanotypes are a Camera-less Photography technique that allows her to work in a spontaneous and expressive manner. Both allow her to utilize the power of the sun to create imagery. Often she begins with an idea or an intention but as the work progresses, she allows it to take her on a journey--never certain of what the final outcome will be.
