Monoprint Course
Discover the expressive and spontaneous world of monoprinting in this engaging 2-day course, running over two Saturdays(6th & 13th June).
Suitable for beginners and those with some experience, this hands-on workshop offers an introduction to one-of-a-kind printmaking techniques that combine drawing, painting, and print.
Across the two sessions(10am-5pm each day), you will explore a range of monoprint processes, experimenting with mark-making, texture, layering, and colour. You’ll learn how to create unique prints using a variety of methods, including additive and subtractive techniques, working directly onto plates to produce rich, painterly results.
With a focus on experimentation and creative exploration, you’ll be encouraged to develop your own visual language and approach to image-making. The course will also cover inking methods, paper handling, and effective ways to build depth and composition through layering.
By the end of the course, you will have produced a series of original monoprints and gained the confidence to continue exploring this versatile and accessible printmaking process.
All basic materials and equipment will be provided, just bring your ideas and a willingness to experiment!
