Xiaoyou You is presenting the first of two special presentations on advanced drawing and rendering from experienced industrial designers. Beginning with an introduction, Xiaoyou will provide a breakdown of her rendering techniques including:
Drawing step 1: perspective and contour (e.g., transfer cars into basic shapes like rectangle)
Drawing step 2: creating layers in photoshop to refine the line drawing
Drawing step 3: creating layers in photoshop to render black, grey, and white tones (incl. shadow lines and light source)
Drawing step 4: ending with creating layers to add colours and change the layer mode to multiply or overlay
Xiaoyou is a PhD candidate at Monash University Mobility Design lab, having graduated with a Bachelor of Industrial Design honours at Monash University.
