Music and Movement in French
This 45-minute music class in French will include a combination of classic French « comptines » as well as original music. Children will get to participate using various instruments (shakers, maracas, tambourines, etc.) and will be led to follow movements, sing along, dance, and play games all throughout the class. Each class will end with a short book, and of course, with the popular bubbles! Adults will be encouraged to participate, even if they do not speak French, and can expect to leave each class knowing new French words.
The class will be led by Joséphine Ancelle, a French singer-songwriter, who also holds a master’s degree from Columbia University's Teachers College in Speech Language Pathology. She has enjoyed teaching music to toddlers and preschoolers in Manhattan since 2012 and currently teaches music to preschoolers and elementary school students at the French American Academy in Jersey City as well. Joséphine is the mother of twin girls and of a two-year old boy. Playing music with young children and developing their musical ear is her passion!
