Celebrate CT Trails Day with us at Mohegan Park!
Join Lorin and Elaine on a leisurely nature hike. We’ll follow the Blue and Green Trails around the Lower Pond, then take the Red Connector to finish on the paved Spaulding Pond Loop. On the hike, we’ll take our time to look and listen for birds, and to learn about plants and wildlife in the park. The route is ~ 2 miles overall; there’s one moderately steep downhill section on the Blue Trail that may be difficult for those with mobility concerns.
What to bring: Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. Bring water, sunscreen, and insect repellent. Binoculars and ID tools (Merlin, Seek, iNaturalist, PictureThis) are useful but optional.
This is a free event and there is free parking. We will we meet up at Mohegan Park Center Parking Lot at: 165-247 Mohegan Park Rd, Norwich, CT 06360.
No dogs are permitted in the park or on the hike, but sharing pet photos is welcome!
