MoDown Barber Exhibit is an Annual trade show and cutting competition. The day begins with education, we collaborate with the top educators and companies to provide education in the following areas.
-Branding &Marketing
-Business Fundamentals
-Photography/Videography/ Editing
-Haircutting Techniques
-Blow Drying/Styling
-Finishing products
-Retail/merchandising
-Social Media Strategies
and much more
Once the training seminar is over we begin the competition. This year we will have five categories available.
-Student Creative
 
Anything goes! This category is designed to have you push your creativity and think outside the box. Color,designs and enhancements are allowed. No pre-cut hair on your models, must be able to show a full transformation.
45 minutes 
-Fast Fade
Showcase your speed! This category will test your ability to blend,create, shape, style and finish a full haircut in 15 minutes. Models hair must have length on top to allow you to style the hair, you will be doing a skin fade (variation is your choice low,mid,high) No precuts or designs (hairline edge up/hard parts are  permited but will be judged on symetry if included in your look). Must utilize all 15 miutes during the category.

-Best Fade
A Fade is a thing of beauty! This category allows you to showcase a timeless technique and style. You will be required to create a balanced shape,style and blend that enhance your models look. No pre-cut hair, enhancements, design or color.
40 minutes
-The Classic
Showcase your roots, this homage to classic mens grooming will be judged from head to toe. You will create a 1920's-1950's haircut and style along with dressing your model to fit the era which your hairstyle represents. There will be no enhancements, colors or designs in this category all parts will have to be done naturaly with hair and not disconnected with the machine or razor (No hard parts, only natural parts).

Pro Creative 
Anything Goes! This category is designed to have you push your creativity and think outside the box. Color,designs and enhancements are allowed. No pre-cut hair on your models, must be able to show a full transformation.

Tag Team Creative 
This category will challenge all your skills. You will have to choose a theme for your model(example sports,movies, music, characters) and a name for your team. 
You will be judged on Creativity of your haircut, style and models wardrobe. Remember, this is a team competition so you must look like a team, work as a team and support each other as a team. Color and enhancements are permitted. No pre cut hair will be allowed. Models must have 2-3 weeks growth of hair ( scalp can not be visible) before competition.

Frequently asked questions:
1. Length of models hair- 2 or 3 weeks of hair growth. Scalp can not be visible. You must be able to showcase a transformation of your models hair. 
2. Model Entry is included with your registraction.
3. Event is all ages 
4. professional categories require proof of license from your practicing state or country. 
5. Student Category requires proof of school/ apprentice program enrollment. 
6. Nearest Hotel- Double Tree in Carson , Ca .
7. Nearest airports Lax and Long Beac.
8. General Admission Door Price $35 
9. Educational seminar is free with general admission ticket.
