PANELISTS

RANDY E. BARNETT is the Carmack Waterhouse Professor of Legal Theory at the Georgetown University Law Center, where he teaches constitutional law and contracts, and is director of the Georgetown Center for the Constitution. He was a recipient of the inaugural Guggenheim Fellowship in Constitutional Studies. His works include Restoring the Lost Constitution: The Presumption of Liberty, The Structure of Liberty: Justice and the Rule of Law, and his latest book, Our Republican Constitution: Securing the Liberty and Sovereignty of We the People.

PATRICIA A. MILLETT was appointed to the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C Circuit on December 10, 2013. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign and Harvard Law School. She clerked for Judge Thomas Tang of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She worked on the appellate staff of the Civil Division in the United States Department of Justice and as an assistant in the Office of the Solicitor General before joining the law firm of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP. She has argued 32 cases before the U.S. Supreme Court.

RICHARD PRIMUS is the Theodore J. St. Antoine Collegiate Professor of Law at the University of Michigan School of Law. He was a recipient of the inaugural Guggenheim Fellowship in Constitutional Studies. He is the author of The American Language of Rights. Professor Primus clerked for the Hon. Guido Calabresi on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
