Creative Space & Workshop Tour Presented by Modern Richmond

Wednesday, June 17th | 5:30–7:30 PM 3408 West Leigh Street Richmond, Va

An incredible evening touring 6 modern maker’s studios.

Modern Richmond invites you to an exclusive evening tour of six extraordinary creative spaces tucked inside Scott's Addition one of RVA's most vibrant and fast-evolving neighborhoods. This is a rare, behind-the-scenes opportunity to walk through the working studios of some of Richmond's most talented makers, meet them in person, see their craft up close, and understand the passion and precision that goes into every piece they create.

Whether you're a design lover, architecture enthusiast, or simply someone who appreciates beautiful things made by hand, this evening will leave you inspired.

Meet the Makers:

Sun & Selene | Brittanny DeRaffele | @sunandselene What started as a one-woman operation in a guest room studio has grown into one of Richmond's most beloved maker brands with a flagship atelier located in Scott's Addition. Brittanny DeRaffele hand-fabricates astrology-inspired fine jewelry and celestial talismans using recycled metals and consciously sourced gemstones. Every piece is mindfully made, size-inclusive, and deeply personal.

Abode Richmond | Marie Fedowitz, Tony Brown & Leonie Brightly | @aboderichmond Abode is not your typical interior design studio. This art & artisan-focused, multidisciplinary team operates with an in-house Decorative Finishing department creating custom decorative plaster, murals, hardware, and lighting that are all created and executed under one roof. With decades of combined experience spanning construction management, design, and interior finishes, Abode brings a broad, hands-on perspective to every project. Their work has been commissioned for spaces locally including the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the Granite Grill in Richmond plus many residential projects. Also on display during the tour are the extraordinary soft goods by studio collaborator Noelle McKown, whose custom upholstery and window treatments blend craftsmanship, color, and texture into something that feels less like décor and more like art.

Perago Enterprises | Jed Perago With over 25 years in the cabinetry and architectural millwork industry Jed Perago brings a rare combination of precision, artistry, and reverence for materials to every project. His focus now is on custom furniture that can be found throughout some of Richmond's most stunning interiors, including the celebrated Floris tearoom at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.

American Haptics | George Rhoads | @americanhaptics American Haptics occupies a fascinating intersection of old-world craft and modern digital manufacturing. Specializing in custom machining, precision engraving, and small-production casting, George Rhoads and his team can develop entirely new concepts or replicate rare, existing items with remarkable fidelity. Their work is handcrafted in Richmond, VA and seeing it up close makes you appreciate just how much skill lives behind the screen and the machine.

Timber Ridge Millworks, LLC | Craig Mattoon Craig Mattoon has spent his career turning raw timber into pieces that last generations. From live-edge slabs and custom furniture to architectural woodwork and specialty milling, Timber Ridge Millworks is a testament to what happens when deep knowledge of wood meets genuine craftsmanship.

Mulberry Guitars | Jake Burns | @mulberryguitars Jake Burns is a guitar obsessive in the best possible sense. He builds and refines electric guitars by hand, with a specialty in Japanese-style instruments inspired by the iconic designs of the 1960s through the late 1980s. Each build is personal, each modification is thoughtful, and each finished instrument is something a musician will bond with for life.

Catering by Pinky's | @pinkysrva No great evening is complete without great food. Catering for the night will be provided by Pinky's, Scott's Addition's beloved coastal Mediterranean restaurant known for its vibrant flavors and legendary vacation vibes.
