Modern Brush Calligraphy Workshop

Melissa Esplin has loved hand-lettering since she was very young. She started a stationery business at 15 and from there her passion for design and letters has only grown. She earned a BFA in Painting & Drawing at BYU with an unofficial “minor” in graphic design.She started out self-taught in calligraphy (it was bad) but has since taken classes from Jake Weidmann, Kathy Milici, Cora Pearl and Michael Sull to name a few. She’s been doing pen and ink since 2009 when she inherited her great-great grandfather’s Atkinson Sign Painter’s book.

We will go over basic brush foundations, letters, numbers and work on funky name tags for holiday gift-giving!
It's the perfect girls' night full of tasty treats, silly puns and lots of personalized instruction to help you do your very best.

All skill levels (and lefties!!) are welcome. If you have prior experience, please come prepared with samples of your prior work and any questions you may have.
Please contact the organizer if you have dietary restrictions. We will be sending out an email prior to the event to make special accommodations for food.
No refunds. If you're unable to make it to the workshop, you can have your fee transfered to the online Brush class or you may sell your ticket to someone else. Attendees are responsible for selling tickets and notifying Melissa of any changes.
