Title: Simulation Workshop @ ECOC: Modeling and Optimizing TFLN-based Modulators for Data Center Interconnects

When: Sunday, September 28th | 14:00–17:00 | Check-in and software setup starts at 13:30

Where: Zoku Copenhagen - Amagerfælledvej 108, 2300 Copenhagen Denmark, just minutes away from the ECOC convention center.

How to get there from the Bella Center: Take the metro M1 to DR Byen (two stops), then walk 2 minutes to the distinct reddish-orange Zoku building.

Description: Bring your own laptop and join us for an in-person hands-on workshop exploring how to simulate and optimize PIC-based optical interconnect systems using VPIphotonics Design Suite. You will learn to:

  • Model photonic components and full systems across multiple abstraction levels
  • Analyze the behavior of TFLN modulators within a data center link
  • Assess and mitigate performance-limiting effects using advanced DSP and ML techniques

This interactive workshop includes a 3-hour session of lectures, guided labs, and independent work with 1-on-1 support. Attendees will be provided access to the software in a cloud-based environment using their private laptops.

This training targets students, early-stage professionals, engineers, and researchers who want to learn how to utilize a professional simulation and design environment. Basic knowledge of the various transmission systems' technologies, concepts, and methodologies is helpful.

What You’ll Get:

  • Direct access to VPIphotonics Design Suite via remote desktop connection
  • Practical experience designing and analyzing Traveling Wave TFLN-based modulators
  • Guidance from experienced photonic simulation experts
  • A chance to explore the integration of DSP and ML in photonic system design

Seats are limited to 35 seats to provide attendees with direct access to our team of experts, so reserve your seat today!

This event is supported by EPIC.
