Model Mad-Libs: An Interactive Life Drawing Session

Come be a part of a creative, social & supportive environment. All levels of artists are welcome! BYOB as well as your favorite art supplies. There will be some art-making materials on-site as well as complimentary wine...available while supplies last.

MODEL MAD-LIBS is an interactive drawing session inspired by the popular word game. The night will begin with artists writing specific prompts on pieces of paper. These prompts will be drawn from a teapot and combined to influence the visual story and direction of the session. Other drawing games may occur.

Although we may deviate from this from time to time: Model(s) will most likely be clothed. Garments may be form-fitting and/or minimal. There may be costumes or costume elements woven in. There may be one model, there may be two. The focus of this session is dynamic posing and storytelling.

The session is hosted at Elle Studios which has quite an extensive collection of interesting props that will be woven in to the model mad-lib games! We are excited to see what happens!

Session Structure:

Doors open at 7:30. Prompts in at 7:45. Drawing begings right at 8. Pose lengths will range from 30 sec, 1min, 2min, 5min, 10min & 15min. Depending on the night, there may be poses in motion, sequential poses, and various other drawing games and exercises thrown into the mix. The focus of this session is dynamic posing and storytelling.

Posing sets will be 20 min with 5 minute breaks. There will be a long break in the middle.

Cost:

$25 in advanced (cut off is 5 hours before event)

$30 at the door

$100 for 5 session pack. Available for purchase onsite. (valid for any regular session; dual model sessions may cost extra depending on the event).

Anna Veedra - @annaveedra

Anna Veedra has been a life drawing model in Seattle, LA, and NYC. Her experience includes moonlighting in hundreds of community sessions, working at some of the top art schools, and posing for major animation and video game studios (Disney, Dreamworks, Cartoon Network, Netflix Animation..ect. This session is inspired by he love for charater animation, illustration and the art of story telling through dynamic gesture...as well as her time spent at UCB improv, where she enjoyed the fun and adventure of the prompted and collaborative spontaneos riff.

Fun fact: The very first Mad-libs were created here in NYC in 1953 😀
