Event description

Description

This year Moto released its brand new Moto Z + Moto Mods™ allowing you to transform your phone in a snap.

Each Moto Mod is built on the new Moto Mods™ Development Kit which gets hackers and makers closer than you’ve ever been to the phone of your dreams.

Bring your great ideas to the hackathon, use the Moto Mods™ Dev kits and win amazing prizes and opportunities.

The best part? Moto has partnered with Lenovo Capital. Build something really amazing, and you may just get the chance to get some investment. Up to $1 million.

Got your attention now? Then start thinking about what you’re going to build. Each event will have three challenges to chose from:

  • Health and Fitness: Getting your heart rate measured and steps counted is great. But built-in health apps can be taken to a whole new level. If you had the ability to add whatever sensor you wanted, what could you build to make health diagnosis easier? Or workouts better, faster, stronger...you get the idea.

  • Retail: From in-store services and promotions to inventory management, retail has changed dramatically over the past few years. How could a Moto Mod change the way people experience their favorite stores and restaurants?

  • Multimedia: The digital revolution changed the way we interacted with multimedia forever. Now imagine you could upgrade your phone’s hardware to better suit your media preferences? What would those Mods look like?

  • Grand Prize:

      • $5,000 cash prize for the winning team
      • Invitation to pitch your mod at Moto HQ for Lenovo Capital investment
