Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) Training

Sling-Choker Academy

This course provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely operate Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs) in industrial and construction environments.

Combining theoretical instruction with a hands-on practical evaluation, the program ensures participants understand safe operating principles, hazard awareness, and their responsibilities when working at height.

Course content includes:

  • MEWP types and applications
  • Hazard identification and risk assessment
  • Pre-use inspections and equipment awareness
  • Safe operating procedures and limitations
  • Fall protection requirements
  • Emergency procedures and site considerations

Participants will complete a practical evaluation using in-house equipment, demonstrating safe operation under instructor supervision.

⚠️ Requirements:

  • Valid Working at Heights (WAH) certification is required
  • CSA-approved safety boots are mandatory
  • Participants must bring their own harness
  • Government-issued photo ID is required

This training is ideal for workers in construction, industrial, maintenance, and facility environments where MEWP use is required.
