The Manhattan Jewish Historical Initiative's mission is to give due recognition to the activities and achievements of what fosters the Jewish religion, Jewish cultural life and thinking in Manhattan and then share those accomplishments to the world. In that vein, since 2017 they have held an annual Manhattan Jewish Hall of Fame awards ceremony and reception. These Hall of Famers were born, lived, currently reside in Manhattan, or work here, and have made an exceptional contribution during their lifetimes. They represent a variety of fields and have left their mark on Manhattan, helping to make it one of the great Jewish cultural centers in the world.
