Workshop by John Desteian, JD, LP, Jungian Analyst exploring Jung's exposition and analysis of the religious function of the psyche.

Please Note: This even is the Saturday workshop following the Friday night lecture (see this link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/168194517329). This workshop is both a Zoom Online event, and an in-person event in St. Paul, MN at the Carondelet Center (1890 Randolph Ave, St Paul, MN 55105)Description: Jung posited a religious function of the psyche which manifested first as individual numinous experiences and transformed by collective identification into religious ritual and dogma. This lecture, and the workshop that follows, will consider and reflect upon Jung's exposition and analysis of the religious function of the psyche, with special attention to the phenomena individuals encounter as numinous appearances. The workshop that follows will also propose a different interpretation of the phenomena of numinosity. So, come for both. (See lecture link above)Bio: John Desteian, JD, LP, Jungian Analyst (Zurich). John, a diplomate Jungian psychoanalyst, has been in private practice in St. Paul since 1983. He is the author of Coming Together, Coming Apart (2021) and of numerous articles and book reviews, appearing in professional journals and anthologies, that concern interpersonal (object) relations, gender, creativity, and politics. Founder, chairman, and past executive director of Jungian International Training-Zurich and the Canadian Foundation for Jungian International Training-Zurich, he is past co-president of the Association of Graduate Analytical Psychologists (AGAP) and a former member of the Executive Committee of the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP).
