Soaring vocal harmonies and story-filled, poetic songwriting - Misner & Smith's sound harkens back to the bedrock of modern american rock & folk. Paying tribute to strong influences like Simon & Garfunkel, The Band, and Buffalo Springfield, they invent a sound all their own, seducing listeners with music that captures longing and belonging in the same moment. Their partnership in music is a search for meaning. The songs yearn for connection, ache for understanding, relish in mystery, and rejoice in creation. In a world that often feels to be crumbling down around us, they dig deep, and find hope in simple things, in the beauty that surrounds us all.
They have recently released their fifth album, <A HREF="https://misnerandsmith.com/listen/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">headwaters</A> (Oct. 3rd, 2017), and with this new offering Sam Misner (guitar and vocals) & Megan Smith (upright bass, mandolin and vocals) have compiled a collection of songs from some of the songwriters and bands who have and continue to influence and inspire their musical journey. Stripping their sound back down to where it began, this selection of songs was recorded live in the studio and features the duo doing what they do best: creating an incredibly textured and rich sound, full of tight arrangements that cut to the quick of each song's heart, and the lush vocal harmonies that have become their trademark.
Crafting songs rich in meaning and texture, Misner & Smith’s sound is anchored by their unique vocal harmonies and evocative lyrics. They tour extensively, both at home and abroad, and in 2007, their song “Madeline (Paradise Cracked)” won the West Coast Songwriters Association’s Song of the Year.

Doors open at 7:30 PM. Music begins at 8:00 PM. There will be two 45-60 minute sets with a short intermission.

-Can I reserve a seat? Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis; we do not generally reserve seats unless special accommodations are required. -Are children allowed? Yes, we are an all-ages venue. It's up to the parents to decide if the content is appropriate for their children.
-Are you ADA accessible? Yes, there is an elevator to the second floor, and the bathrooms are accessible. Please contact us ahead of time if you need seating accommodations.
-What's your refund policy? Please contact us before the day of the show; in most cases, we will be able to provide a refund of the ticket price (fees are non-refundable).
-Where can I park? Plan to arrive early to find the best parking; you should be able to find a space within four blocks of The Palms. You can either park on the street or in a nearby lot; all public parking in Winters is free.
