Heron Arts was founded in 2013 by Mark Slee, an active member of San Francisco's creative community, organizing events since the mid-2000s. Prior to Heron Arts, Slee was a member of Facebook's product design and development team. He is joined in 2015 by directors Noah Antieau and Tova Lobatz, who are pursuing ambitious programming that will encompass installations and experiential interactive environments, alongside traditional gallery exhibitions.

Billy Gomberg lives in San Francisco, California. His practice incorporates traditional &amp; modern synthesis, digital treatments, acoustic recordings and occasional instrumentation. His discography and performance history is long and colorful. He recently returned from performing and recording in Japan.For ‘misinterpretations’ Billy will collaborate with Charles and special guests to weave a sonic wonderland of field recordings and synthesis conducive to intentional listening and relaxing in the exhibition space. Floor matts will be provided. 3 hour performance. Casual. Come and go as you please. Cash bar. Snax. Bring your own enhancements. Dress warm and whacky.Billy’s most recent Wilderness and Luxury (2022) on Dasa Tapes articulates shifts and returns grown from living in California. New locations, rediscovered materials and techniques finding a poetic perspective on topographies of experience, threading urban environments, and natural (built) spaces. His solo LP Slight At That Contact was pressed by Students of Decay and released in October 2016. Billy’s recent cassettes Transition and Beginners, were released in 2017 and 2018 (respectively) on Dinzu Artefacts, with A Changed Meaning issued by Strange Rules coming between them. Billy’s published recordings stretch back to 2005, including 2009’s touchstone Comme.Extinguishment, a duo with Andy Guthrie under the name Fraufraulein, was released by Another Timbre in early 2015, and their follow-up Heavy Objects was released by Marginal Frequencies in 2017.
