Mirrorless Dance Program

Mirrorless Dance Program

Overview

Dance Movement Therapist-led program to explore movement from within. Come home to your body and expand your movement flow and rhythm.

Mirrorless Dance Program: Come home to your body

This therapeutic dance program is led by principles of Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) and focuses on reconnecting with the body through inner rhythm, movement, and emotional awareness — without mirrors, performance, or pressure!

Through guided practices, music, and reflective exercises, participants are supported to explore how the movement feels and develop deeper body awareness, emotional expression, and authentic movement.

Mirrorless Dance program is suitable for dancer, movers and non-movers interested in self-exploration, embodied wellbeing, and therapeutic movement. No dance experience is required- participants are gently guided to explore movement and discover their own natural rhythm to reconnect with the body.

What to Expect

Across the sessions, we will explore how the body communicates through movement, sensation, rhythm, and relational awareness. The core themes that we will explore in the program are:

  1. Reconnecting with internal body awareness
  2. Body choice and musical dialogue
  3. Listening to resistance by meeting the uncomfortable
  4. Reflecting on movement journey and integration

Session 1: Sunday, 29th March 2026

The opening session focuses on reconnecting with internal body awareness. After which we explore agency in movementallowing the body to lead rather than forcing choreography. Participants experiment with rhythm and music as relational partners in movement.

Session 2: Sunday, 12th April 2026

The second session invites curiosity toward resistance, avoidance, and tension in the body. Participants explore boundaries and the expressive potential of shadow movements. We end the session with reflection on the movement journey and integrate insights from previous sessions. Participants practice self-witnessing and honour the body’s experiences through reflective movement and group witnessing.
