Miracle of Survival

Come join us for a truly inspiring event at the Gordon Jewish Community Center.
Joseph Alexander, born in 1922, is one of the few remaining Holocaust survivors today, who remembers how it all began. At the age of 102, he says there has never been a more impactful time to share the story and to educate the young people. Before October 7th, he would give frequent talks across the country, but now his lectures are nonstop and sold out. He remains indefatigable, answering every request with an emphatic “yes” and driving his own car all across the country.

His story grips listeners as he recounts how he survived the Warsaw Ghetto and spent six years in concentration camps including those of Dachau and Auschwitz-Birkenau. After the brutal annihilation of the Warsaw ghetto in 1943, he was sent from Auschwitz back to the ghetto to clean up the destruction’s aftermath.

Listen to his harrowing tale and be captivated by his enduring faith and spirit that have outlived the evils of history. With the dwindling number of survivors, this is a rare and historic opportunity to hear firsthand a fading generation’s message and story.

Alexander recently said in an interview “The motivation is to let the people know what happened, because I’m asked to speak for six million Jews who cannot talk.”
