MissionApprenticeship Minnesota supports Minnesota’s economy by fostering and promoting employment-based career development through registered apprenticeship programs that provide structured on-the-job training and related classroom instruction to develop a highly skilled workforce.Apprenticeship MinnesotaApprenticeship Minnesota at the Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) oversees compliance of the Minnesota Apprenticeship Act for 12,000 registered apprentices in more than 200 different apprenticeship programs. DLI’s focus since the beginning of Governor Dayton’s administration has been to work with our registered apprenticeship sponsors, particularly union construction programs, to increase female and minority participation in registered apprenticeship.Strategies1. Expand registered apprenticeship as an effective employment-based tool to develop a 21st Century workforce.2. Develop and oversee registered apprenticeship programs.3. Promote workforce diversity through registered apprenticeship programs.4. Ensure portability and support the career development continuum for apprentices and graduates.

Minnesota Apprenticeship Summit
A day of educational and networking opportunities celebrating the success of apprenticeship in Minnesota. The Summit will showcase best practices and explore strategies to expand apprenticeship to build Minnesota's 21st Century workforce. 
The Summit is free to attend but registration is required.
 
Who should attend?
The Minnesota Apprenticeship Summit will include speakers and panel discussions from a range of industries and organizations. 
It will include multiple tracks for industry-specific sessions, general sessions and a special track for employers new to apprenticeship.

Target audiences for the Summit are the industries of construction, health care and manufacturing as well as other high growth industries such as transportation, IT and agricultural and include:

This one day event is 7:30-4:00 with 4:00-5:00 networking reception.
