Minkisi's 25th Anniversary Mini-Retreat

You are invited to join Minkisi's 25th Anniversary Mini-Retreat on Saturday, November 12, 2022, 8:45 am-12 pm ET (in person and livestreamed), held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 2700 South 19th St., Arlington, VA 22204. The theme is: “Jesus is the Light of the World! Let Your Light Shine! John 8:12—I am the light of the world, and he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

In celebration of this milestone year for the Minkisi Ministry, the retreat focus includes the words of our patron saint-to-be Servant of God Sr. Thea Bowman: “Let your light shine. Each one teach one. Walk your talk. You didn’t get your light only to sit on it.”

On November 12, Minkisi retreat participants will:

• Gather in the church at 8:45 am.
• Attend Mass from 9:00-11:00 am, in person and via livestream.
• Participate in the Sending Forth from 11:00 am-12 pm, including connection with a Prayer Partner; "spirit tools" such as a retreat booklet, holy cards, bookmarks, etc.; an inspirational book raffle; and an optional boxed lunch.

Concelebrants are Fr. Timothy Hickey, C.S.Sp., the pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, and guest homilist Fr. Robert P. Boxie III, Chaplain of the Catholic Community, Howard University, Washington, D.C. Ms. Charlene Howard, the Director of Spiritual Life at Archbishop Carroll High School, D.C., will offer a reflection after Communion. Kristofer Pandohie, music director, will lead the OLQP 9:30 Gospel Choir in sacred music and song.

The 25th Anniversary Mini-Retreat Committee includes Jackie Smith, Melody Atkinson, Burma Hill, Grace Rissetto, and Cecilia Braveboy (chairperson).
