TRISTAN LEE
SC Warrior, Advocate, Model, Actor, Poet, Fashion Designer, and Published Author
Tristan Lee is a talented model, actor, poet, and fashion designer. Tristan was diagnosed with Sickle Cell as a baby at six months old. School was always challenging for him as he was out sick from sickle cell most days. It was always a struggle for Tristan to keep up with the other kids both psychically and mentally, but through the grace of God, he did and graduated on time.
Despite having had a stroke early in life, Tristan has pressed forward to accomplish great things, including an almost complete recovery through therapy, dedication, and hard work, and there are many more great things yet to come for him. He does a lot of charity work advocating for the South Central PA Sickle Cell Council of Harrisburg, PA helping them raise awareness for this cause.
TANYA GENTRY
SC Warrior, Advocate, and Published Author
She is a sickle cell warrior, former President of the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America- San Diego Chapter, a sickle cell advocate, and a newly published author of Pee Wee Goes to School. After retiring from the association Tanya wanted a way to reach warriors across the globe. She figured out what better way to reach our young warriors than a children’s book. That’s how Pee Wee was born. Pee Wee Goes to School is for sickle cell awareness and it puts a spotlight on bullying. Pee Wee is here to let our warriors/children know they are Champions and they have a purpose here on earth. Once they find their purpose they will be unstoppable! Recently Tanya has brought her character Pee Wee from the pages of her book to animation. She creates PSAs on YouTube using Pee Wee to educate our warriors around the world.
