Yes. This is a fully in-person class and includes interactive discussion and a short maternity tour.

Who should attend?

This class is ideal for expecting parents who want a comprehensive overview of birth but are unable to attend a multi-week series.

Question 3

When in my pregnancy should I take this class?

Accepted Answer

Most expecting parents take birth classes during the late second trimester to early third trimester (around 28–32 weeks or 6–7 months pregnant). We recommend completing your classes at least 4–6 weeks before your due date so the information is fresh and you have time to prepare before baby arrives.

Is the class accessible?

The class includes sitting, standing, and light walking. Elevators are available. If you require accessibility accommodations or interpretive services, please contact us in advance so we can best support you.

Question 5

Where should I park and check in?

Accepted Answer

Please park in Garage C. Take the garage elevator to Level 1, stop at the Information Desk to check in, and your instructor will meet you in the lobby and guide you to the classroom.

What if the class is full?

If the class is full, please select the waitlist option in Eventbrite or contact us at AAMCbirth@luminishealth.org. We will do our best to accommodate additional families or notify you if a spot becomes available.

Question 7

Can I submit this class to my insurance for reimbursement?

Accepted Answer

Some insurance plans may offer reimbursement for childbirth education classes. Coverage varies by plan. Luminis Health does not submit insurance claims on participants’ behalf; however, a receipt can be provided upon request. To request a receipt, please email AAMCbirth@luminishealth.org.

How long is the class?

The class runs for approximately 3-3.5 hours, including breaks.
