<h1>Learn the foundations of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) with Mindfulness Teacher Wilda Wong. </h1><h3></h3><h3>Intention: To create a space for artists and creatives from around the globe to practice mindfulness as a community and to find a sense of inner strength and wisdom.</h3><h3>Very simply, mindfulness can be described as moment-to-moment, nonjudgmental awareness. In an MBSR class*, facilitators and participants share mindfulness practices that can help us uncover paths to internal calm and peace, even when facing stressful situations.</h3><h3><strong>With consistent long-term practice, </strong><a href="https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2022/11/09/1135211525/anxiety-medication-meditation-lexapro" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"><strong>MBSR can be effective in calming anxiety.</strong></a></h3><h3></h3><h3>-</h3><h3></h3><h3><strong>Mondays at 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m (VIRTUAL SESSIONS) Each session highlights:</strong></h3><ul><li><strong>April 17th: THE BREATH — Introduction, movement and body scan, creative flow activity, closing meditation.</strong></li><li><strong>April 24th: THE BODY —Movement, the five objects of awareness, creative flow activity, seeing vs. looking</strong></li><li><strong>May 1st: BEING—Movement, mountain meditation, creative flow activity, loving kindness.</strong></li></ul><h3><strong>$25.00 per session or $60 for the series.  ** Space is very limited**</strong></h3><h3><em>Agendas subject to change</em></h3><h3></h3><h3>Please arrive in comfortable clothes in a space relatively free of distractions. Please have near you: hydration, a writing instrument and a notebook or scratch paper, a cushion, a blanket and/or a yoga mat. You are invited to prepare your space with candles, incense, or anything else that sparks joy and creativity.</h3><h3></h3><h3>*This series includes MBSR-informed practices but should not be considered the full MBSR course, which typically lasts 8 weeks. While mindful movement in an MBSR setting is intended to be relatively gentle, discretion and care are advised. Participants are encouraged to find movements and postures that are supportive for our bodies even if they contradict guided instructions—practicing listening to our inner wisdom.</h3><h3></h3><h3><strong>ABOUT WILDA WONG (she/her/hers)</strong></h3><h3>Wilda spent her early years in Hong Kong, raised in large part by her grandmother, an amazing cook who prepared food for her family with love and care. Before her passing, her grandmother modeled mindful cooking and living, though Wilda wouldn’t realize this until she started teaching Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).</h3><h3>Wilda likes to incorporate informal mindfulness practice into everyday activities—cooking, eating, walking—and finds joy in the small things. Through practicing mindful cooking, she’s been able to connect with her grandmother once more.</h3><h3>Wilda believes mindfulness and MBSR help us tap into the wisdom within us to hold us during joyous occasions and challenging scenarios. Participants not only make valuable connections with other creatives, they are also provided with tools, tips, and tricks to help them make a living doing what they love.
