Join us for a workshop on meditation, movement, and mindfulness to help children manage everyday emotions and have fun!

<p>This workshop is designed to help children build empathy, improve self-awareness and learn to manage emotions using meditation, movement (yoga and stretching), and mindfulness.  Children will learn skills to build resilience, self-compassion and internal emotional regulation.</p><p>Learning Objectives:</p><ol><li>Practice basic mindfulness through playful breathing exercises. </li><li>Learn to reflect, relax and calm the mind.</li><li>Sharpen sensory awareness and build focus.</li><li>Apply grounding techniques to build confidence and self-acceptance.</li><li>Learn simple yoga practices to promote calm. </li></ol><p>Activities:</p><ul><li>Positive affirmations/mantras</li><li>Mindfulness meditation</li><li>Yoga poses</li></ul><p></p><p>Children ages 6-12 are invited to learn mindfulness practices, simple yoga poses, and basic meditation principles. Courtney is also a registered yoga teacher, and has advanced training through Y.O.G.A for Youth (Kundalini Yoga-40 hours), and Trauma-Sensitive Yoga. courtgiannetta@gmail.com </p><p>Julie Torok-Mangasarian, MA: is experienced as a direct service provider, teacher and mentor. Julie has specialized training in play, practices for emotional regulation, and expressive arts.
