Bring Forest Bathing Experience to Your Back Yard

Join me for a deep journey into our senses aided by the more-than-human world. We'll give our thinking minds a break as we experience a perhaps familiar place in a completely new—yet ancient—way. Participate from your backyard, a balcony, a park, or a favorite trail; all it needs is reliable Wi-Fi or cell reception.

I will craft a series of invitations that amplify nature's innate power to restore our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. Connect with the blossoming yang energy of summer and the supportive energy of your fellow participants. Delight in summer's sounds, sights, colors, and textures.

The event is inspired by the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku, which encourages our bodies and minds to slow down, disconnect from the stressors of our modern lives, and deepen our relationship with the natural world. In doing so, we open the door to nature's healing properties.

I am a Forest Therapy Guide certified by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. Guides are not therapists, and these walks are not intended as therapy; however, the practice itself can be considered therapeutic.

Frequently asked questions

Anything I need to bring?

Make sure your phone is fully charged and that you are in a comfortable place where you won't be disrupted. Keep yourself muted until you are sharing. I might mute you if you forget. Bring something to sit on and a beverage (tea, coffee, water...) for our closing ceremony.

Won't the phone be distracting?

You can basically keep your phone in your pocket the whole time. And I would certainly recommend putting it into airplane mode. Turning the camera on when we come to sharing is optional.

What if the weather is to hot/cold/wet/windy where I am that day?

You can spend some or all of the time inside, as long as you are by a window. A houseplant nearby is also nice. Nature is everywhere.
