MindfestEvent Overview: Mindfest is designed to engage community members by sharing knowledge about innovative and influential psychology research conducted at UBC Okanagan. Our goal is to foster connections between psychology faculty and individuals from the greater Kelowna community through fascinating presentations and engaging conversations.Event Details:<ul><li>What: Mindfest – A showcase of psychology research enhancing community well-being.</li><li>Who: Community members, students, and faculty.</li><li>When: June 26th, 2024, from 6:00 pm to approximately 8:00 pm.</li><li>Where: Mary Irwin Centre &amp; lobby, including access to the Rotary Centre's lobby area and lecture theater</li></ul> Event Layout:<ol><li>Presentations and voting: 5 presentations will highlight certain fields of psychology, to determine which research feilds best benefit the community! Topics include online dating, drugs, deception, and death. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a prize draw by answering questions related to the presentations. After all presentations, attendees will vote on the research they believe is most beneficial for community well-being.</li><li>Discussion and Networking: Following the presentations, attendees will gather in the lobby area for discussions, snacks, and live background music by Ben Klick.</li><li>Raffle Prizes: Enter to win some amazing prizes from local Kelowna businesses!</li></ol>
