This training session is designed to provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges and responsibilities associated with delivering mental health services to the military/veteran population within the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) framework.


Training Objectives:

  • Identifying Unique Challenges: We will delve into the distinctive mental health challenges and service needs that military/veteran individuals may face, ensuring that attendees can recognize and address these needs effectively as required by CCBHC guidelines.
  • CCBHC Principles and Relevance: Attendees will gain insight into the core principles and objectives of the CCBHC model and understand how it relates to serving military/veteran clients.
  • Cultural Competency: Cultural competency and sensitivity when working with the military/veteran community will be emphasized, helping attendees provide more effective and empathetic care.
  • Understanding Military Culture: We will explore the impact of military culture, deployment experiences, and trauma on mental health, enabling attendees to better support veterans and active-duty service members.
  • Evidence-Based Interventions: Evidence-based treatment modalities and interventions will be discussed in the context of military/veteran mental health care, ensuring attendees are equipped with effective tools for therapy.
