Event description

Description

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) has been called the “signature injury” of the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. It has been estimated that approximately 20% of Veterans who were deployed to Iraq and/or Afghanistan sustained at least one mild TBI (mTBI), and many individuals sustained multiple mTBI’s over the course of one or more deployments. This presentation will address several topics related to TBI, with a particular focus on mild TBI, including diagnostic criteria, factors that can contribute to persisting symptoms, and treatment options for cognitive difficulties.
