Migration and Gender

The OAS brings together all 35independent statesof the Americas and constitutes the main political, juridical, and social governmental forum in the Hemisphere. In addition, it has grantedpermanent observerstatus to 69 states, as well as to theEuropean Union(EU).

Organization of American States

The Executive Secretariat for Integral Development and the Chair of the Committee on Migration Issues (CAM), Alvaro Calderón Ponce de León, Permanent Representative of Colombia to the OAS, is pleased to announce a discussion on Migration and Gender , to be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 10:00 a.m.  to 12:00 pm (Rubén Darío Room, GSB building on F. Street, 8th Floor).
The event will feature remarks by Ambassador Laura Thompson, Deputy Director General of the UN Migration Agency - The International Organization for Migration (IOM); Amalia Del Riego Abreu, Unit Chief, Health Services and Access, Panamerican Health Organization (PAHO), Ms. Puri Lakshmi, Deputy Executive Director of UN Women and a Foreign Affairs High Level Authority from Central America.
The event will be in English and Spanish with simultaneous interpretation to both languages.
