Mighty Microgreens Workshop

The City of Ventura's Environmental Sustainability team, in collaboration with Ventura Water, invites you to our October Gardening Series Workshop!

Join us for an fun and hands-on workshop led by Brant Connelly, owner of Channel Island Microgreens, Ventura’s local producer of fresh, nutrient-packed microgreens.

During this event, Brant will share insights into the world of microgreens: tiny but mighty plants harvested at their most nutrient-dense stage. You’ll learn about their impressive health benefits, including higher concentrations of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants compared to their fully grown counterparts.

After the discussion, you’ll build your own microgreens starter kit and receive step-by-step guidance on how to successfully grow these vibrant greens at home. Whether you're looking to boost your nutrition or explore sustainable growing practices, this workshop offers something for everyone.

• Check-in: 9:50am-10am
• Presentation: 10am-12pm
• Location: Westpark Community Center - 450 W Harrison Ave, Ventura, CA 93001
• Parking: There is a parking lot available, but space may be limited. Nearby street parking is also available.

What to Bring:

• Outdoor Venue: Make sure to bring water, sunscreen, and any other items that will help you feel more comfortable outdoors.
