MIG Workshop: Advanced methods for scRNA-seq data
Join our one-day intensive workshop to gain essential skills for analysing scRNA-seq data.
About the Workshop
Join us for an intensive one-day workshop designed to equip research students, postdocs and professional bioinformaticians with essential skills for analysing scRNA-seq data. Led by Dr Belinda Phipson (WEHI), Melody Jin (WEHI) and Dr Jiadong Mao (MIG), this hands-on workshop guides participants through a complete computational workflow. We will cover quality control and batch integration through to clustering, differential expression analysis using limma and edgeR and marker-based cell type annotation. For downstream analysis, you'll explore reference-based annotation with Φ-Space, differential cell proportion analysis with propeller and cell-specific gene regulatory network inference using NeighbourNet. Whether you're starting your first scRNA-seq project or looking to expand your analytical toolkit, this workshop offers practical, immediately applicable skills combining established methods with cutting-edge tools for modern single-cell analysis.
Lead Instructors: Dr Belinda Phipson (WEHI), Melody Jin (WEHI) and Dr Jiadong Mao (MIG)
Prerequisites: basic knowledge of R; some experience with scRNA-seq pipelines (e.g. Seurat)
Desirable: attendance at Xiaochen Zhang (MIG)’s workshop or any introductory workshop
