Midsummer Beach Ecstatic Dance

Wales’ thriving ecstatic dance community gathers again this summer for a magical evening of movement, music, nature, and connection at the breathtaking Three Cliffs Bay. ✨

Surrounded by sea, sky, fire, and earth, we come together to celebrate the bliss of midsummer through the medicine of dance — wild, free, embodied, and alive.

Our sacred outdoor dancefloor at Three Cliffs Beach has become an annual ritual: a space to honour the abundance of summer, reconnect with nature, and return home to ourselves through movement.

This special midsummer gathering features guest DJ Holly Fontanelli and facilitator Felipe Fontanelli, who will guide us through an immersive journey of dance as medicine — an invitation to release, surrender, awaken, and reconnect with the body.

Expect soul-invigorating, booty-shaking, heart-softening music and everything in between. Together we create a welcoming, non-judgmental space to move freely, express authentically, and celebrate our shared humanity through dance.

Our outdoor dances offer a sacred container to reconnect with the rhythm of the land and our own wild nature. Dance becomes ritual, release, celebration, prayer, play, and transformation.

Join us for an evening of freedom, heartfelt community, and connection with the elements at the beautiful Three Cliffs Beach. After the dance, gather around the fire or enjoy a warming chai with the community. ☕️🔥

✨ WHAT IS ECSTATIC DANCE?

Ecstatic Dance is a free-form movement journey designed to support self-expression, presence, joy, and inner connection. No dance experience is needed — only a willingness to move.

Our shared agreements:
🌀 We dance barefoot to ground into the earth
🌀 We dance without talking on the dancefloor
🌀 We dance substance-free — no alcohol or drugs
🌀 We dance without phones or technology, staying fully present

The evening begins with a guided somatic warm-up to help us land in our bodies and connect with the land, followed by an eclectic and beautifully curated DJ journey through waves of rhythm, energy, emotion, and release. We close gently in stillness, integration, and a final sharing circle.

🎧 ABOUT THE FACILITATORS

DJ Holly is known for her deeply intuitive and eclectic DJ sets, blending global rhythms with ceremonial and Celtic undertones. Raised in South Wales and influenced by the UK electronic scene, she began mixing vinyl at 15, later training in music production and audio engineering in London. Her decade in Brazil deepened her connection to ceremonial music and community-led healing spaces.

Holly and Felipe are founders of Ecstatic Grooves in Bologna, Italy, and have spent years cultivating conscious movement spaces and heart-led community practices across Europe.

Felipe, born in Brazil and raised in Italy, brings a grounded and intuitive facilitation style shaped by years of somatic practice, spirituality, conscious movement, and inner exploration. His work invites people to reconnect with the wisdom of the body and move through emotional release, clarity, and transformation.

If this is your first time — or your first sober dance experience — please know this is a warm, welcoming, and inclusive space. We are all part of co-creating the dance together, and there is something truly special about strangers gathering to move freely without judgment.

🚗 PARKING & LOCATION

Parking is available at the Heritage Centre or outside Shepherds shop in Parkmill. From there, follow the river path towards the beach — our team will meet you by the stone circle. Please allow approximately 15 minutes to walk to the dance location.

🎧 We use silent disco headphones for an immersive sound experience while respecting the natural environment and allowing everyone to adjust their own volume.

📸 A designated photographer may capture a few photos or short videos during the event to share the magic of our gatherings. If you would prefer not to be included, please let a team member know at the beginning of the evening.

🌧 WEATHER PLAN

If the Welsh weather turns against us, we will move indoors to our beautiful backup venue overlooking Oxwich Bay at Penmaen & Nicholston Village Hall. Any venue changes will be announced via email and social media the evening before the event.

We hold a compassionate, safe, and non-judgmental container for community joy, wellbeing, and authentic expression.

Low-income tickets are available — please contact us for more information. We will never turn anyone away due to lack of funds. ✨
