  • Event lasts 4 days 3 hours

Get hands on with block based coding with LEGO EV3 and LEGO Classroom App

Coders will be able to create and run programs as well as accomplish different tasks using the LEGO EV3 and LEGO Classroom App which features a Scratch-like interface.

This class is great for beginners and students who enjoy Legos and Scratch.

Activities

  • Build the robot with Lego pieces
  • Learn how to create algorithms (step-by-step instructions) for robots
  • Alter their algorithms to complete challenges

Schedule

We'll meet each day from 1:00 - 4:00 pm throughout the week of June 2nd-June 6th.

Each day will be focused on specific skills and tools used for coding. Passion Project allows the students to create their own project with the tools discovered throughout the week. An awards ceremony will take place at the end of the week.

What Parents Gain

We all want our kids to find their passion or engage in activities that stimulate their love of learning. Parents will see their children learn problem solving techniques, a drive to try something new, and gain knowledge about coding and technology that can assist them in the future.

Your Host

The lead host will be Ryan Hunter, Co-Founder of TechWise Academy.

Mission Statement

To teach coding and computer science to children, K-12, and introduce them to new ways to problem solve and explore curiosity and creativity.

What We Do

We are creating a generation of problem solvers and innovators through coding and computer science principles.

The Approach

  • Embrace mistakes: Evidence suggests during initial learning students retain more information if they’re given the freedom to make mistakes. Encourage them to learn and grow in confidence through mistakes as they seek an answer.
  • Enjoy learning: Learning and problem solving can be fun through creative activities like coding and game design.
  • Explore computer science: Computer science is a powerful medium in which students can express themselves to solve challenges in unique ways to enhance their creativity and problem.
