Join us in person to explore how to build semantic models, data agents, and conversational analytics with Microsoft Fabric!
Format: Interactive Hackathon
Duration: November 9, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (lunch will be provided)
Location: Hilton Anatole, Dallas, Texas, in the Carpenter Ballroom (on the first floor just off the East Atrium)
Audience: Healthcare Data, Analytics, Clinical, Research, and IT Professionals
Skill Level: Beginner to Advanced
Join Microsoft, UNC Health, and Cloudforce for a hands-on healthcare data and AI hackathon focused on turning healthcare data into actionable intelligence using Microsoft Fabric, AI, and modern semantic technologies.
In this full-day interactive workshop, healthcare analytics, clinical, research, and IT professionals will work in collaborative teams using a synthetic healthcare environment built on the OMOP Common Data Model. Through a blend of expert-led demonstrations and guided exercises, participants will learn how to build semantic models, create dashboards with AI prompts, develop data agents, and explore conversational analytics for healthcare use cases.
This is not a lecture. Participants will build working solutions throughout the day while collaborating with peers and receiving coaching from Microsoft and healthcare technology experts.
NOTE: This event is free to attend, but parking at the Hilton Anatole is $38 for the day. Lunch will be provided.
What Participants Will Explore
Participants will learn how to:
- Build healthcare semantic models using OMOP-based datasets
- Create KPIs, measures, and business logic for consistent analytics
- Generate dashboards with natural language and AI prompts
- Develop data agents for clinical, operational, and research scenarios
- Understand the relationship between semantic models, ontologies, knowledge graphs, and conversational analytics
- Accelerate insight generation using AI across healthcare data
- Connect data, context, and AI reasoning to improve decision-making
Teams may follow prepared healthcare use cases or adapt the platform to challenges from their own organizations.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the hackathon, participants will be able to:
- Design semantic models that improve consistency, reuse, and trust
- Apply Microsoft Fabric to healthcare analytics and AI scenarios
- Build AI-assisted dashboards and conversational analytics experiences
- Create data agents that leverage organizational knowledge and context
- Establish a foundation for AI-powered healthcare intelligence
- Use industry standards such as OMOP to accelerate innovation
Who Should Attend
- Healthcare analytics leaders
- Clinical informaticists
- Data scientists and researchers
- Business intelligence and data engineering teams
- Healthcare IT leaders and architects
- AI and innovation teams
- Population health and quality leaders
- Organizations evaluating Microsoft Fabric and healthcare AI solutions
What Makes This Different
Rather than watching demonstrations, participants will build practical healthcare AI solutions in a live environment. Working alongside peers from other health systems, they will gain hands-on experience with semantic models, AI agents, dashboards, and conversational analytics while creating reusable patterns that can be adapted within their own organizations.
All data and technology environments will be provided, but participants should bring their own laptop.
