Please join Microsoft, partnering with <A HREF="http://www.princeton.edu/researchcomputing/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Princeton Institute for Computational Science & Engineering and OIT's Research Computing</A> for a Microsoft Azure cloud training at Princeton.  
Microsoft Azure is a growing collection of integrated cloud services that developers, researchers and IT professionals use to build, deploy, and manage applications through our global network of datacenters. With Azure, you get the freedom to build and deploy wherever you want, using the tools, applications, and frameworks of your choice. Each attendee will receive an Azure Pass with a $500 Azure credit that can be used up to one month after the workshop.  Open to Princeton University students, researchers and staff only. Limited seats available and registration is required required. Participants should bring their own laptop. 
This training is organized over 2 days with four sessions – please register separately for each session you wish to attend:

Session 1. Activate Your Azure: Azure Basics – Getting Started: This Azure workshop is a starter training to develop initial understanding for users with on-boarding details. The session includes understanding Enterprise and Pay-As-You-Go account set-up, subscriptions, role based access control, subscription management and billing. Participants will be able to organize their subscriptions into resource groups, associate existing Identity and access management, understand building Enterprise Scaffold and get ready to start with real life projects in Azure.

Session 2. Azure for Technologists and IT pros: This Azure workshop will familiarize Technologists and IT pros with services available in Azure build and secure your enterprise perimeter in Azure. He workshop will cover secure your subscription in Azure, enabling audit, logging and monitoring of all operations including template based deployment for the enterprise. The session includes understanding Identity management, Infrastructure and Platform services and DevOps practices available and practiced on Azure.

Session 3. Azure for the Classroom: Microsoft Azure distinguishes itself as a platform for advanced data science workloads.  In this one-hour session, Randy Guthrie will review Microsoft’s Azure for the Classroom grant program, with a focus on the direct engineering support that can be provided to assist in project creation, the special tools that are available for distributing the grant credits to students and monitoring student usage in real time, and best practices that have been observed in over 20 course pilots at Stanford, UC Berkeley, MIT, Georgia Tech, and the University of Illinois. 
Microsoft’s Azure for the Classroom program provides credit “grants” at select universities with the goal that those grants would allow for the creation and execution of course assignments that are richer, more realistic, and easier to set up.

Session 4. Azure for Research: This Azure workshop will familiarize researchers and data scientists with big data storage, machine learning and advanced analytics, cognitive intelligence, container and batch services. Instruction is hands-on; participants will spend most of the day working on proctored labs.
