CYBER.ORG, formerly The National Integrated Cyber Education Research Center (NICERC), is a cybersecurity workforce development organization that targets K-12 students with cyber career awareness, curricular resources and teacher professional development. The United States Department of Homeland Security supports CYBER.ORG through a grant from the Cybersecurity Infrastructure and Security Agency (CISA) to develop and distribute cyber, STEM, and computer science curricula to educators across the country. Parkside School

micro:bit Workshop: July 16, 2019: 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.The micro:bit is a versatile, affordable platform whose uses will grow with your students' skills. In this full-day workshop, teachers will work through the basics of block-based coding projects and learn how to integrate them in their classroom. No prior coding experience required! STEM EDA Workshop: July 17, 2019: 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.During the STEM: Explore, Discover, Apply (STEM EDA) workshop, teachers experience hands-on, project-driven modules for middle school. The STEM EDA curriculum engages students in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and liberal arts. Teachers will learn how to use the Engineering Design process to develop 21st century skills like problem-solving, critical thinking, leadership, team-building, creativity, and communication. Each module infuses cyber contexts and humanities connections into fundamental STEM concepts.Lunch will be provided on both days. The workshops will be led by subject matter experts at the <a href="https://nicerc.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">National Integrated Cyber Education Research Center (NICERC)</a>, the academic division of the Cyber Innovation Center. Participants should bring their own laptop or Chromebook. All teachers will receive access to free curriculum materials!
